XTools Pro - Install/Licensing

License Restrictions

Available for OSU faculty, staff and students on institutional devices or computers for use in education and non-commercial research.

Please Note: X-Tools is NOT allowed on student-owned devices.

Resolution

If installing from off campus, make sure to connect to the VPN before proceeding.

Windows

  1. Navigate to \\software.oregonstate.edu\software\X-Tools
  2. Find the _XTools Pro folder and copy the folder to the desktop.
    Note: Older versions of XTools are available as well if needed.
  3. Run _XTools Pro.exe.
    Note: ArcGIS 10.0 or later is required to be installed before installing XTools Pro.
  4. Read and accept the license agreement by checking the checkbox and click "Install".
  5. After the install has been completed, it will prompt to launch ArcMap.
  6. When opening ArcMap, a prompt will apear to activate XTools.
  7. Select "Enter a key".
  8. Select "Multiline license code generated for computer..."
  9. Copy the contents from the XTools License.txt file to the license field.
  10. Once activated, a window should pop up stating that the product was registered successfully.
