Issue/Question
Microsoft SafeLinks re-encodes all URL's on incoming email messages in Outlook. When you click on a link, Microsoft "checks" the website and makes sure it's safe to visit before they let you through. Occasionally there are sites who's link only allow a single visit and SafeLink uses up that click. Examples of this include password reset messages for some sites.
Environment
- Oregon State
- Exchange Email
Resolution
Note: This process should only be used for known legitimate links that have proven to break when using SafeLinks as this bypasses measures to keep your account safe.
- Have the website generate the email.
- Copy the link from the email. (Do NOT click on the link)
- Browse to https://www.o365atp.com
- Paste the link into the Paste SafeLinks URL: box
- Copy the URL from the Decoded URL: box
- Paste the URL into a new browser tab to visit that site without SafeLink
